This is a very young Muslim community which basically started developing in 2009, however there were other Musallah before but it is until year 2009 that it really started to grow. There is a Muslim population of around 80-100 between the two neighbour cities of Tijuana and Rosarito. There are 2 Musallah in Playas de Tijuana, one Musallah in Rosarito, two home-based Muslim groups and the First purpose built Masjid and Community Centre under construction in Rosarito. Baja California is border with the State of California U.S. Tijuana (border town) used to be the most visited city of the world. Summer time is the busiest due to its nice weather and beaches. Rosarito gastronomy is well known for its lobster and sea food and it is only 25 minute drive south California border. There is no halal food available yet.
