This policy explains what information we collect when you use Salatomatic’s sites, services, mobile applications, products, and content (“Services”). It also has information about how we store, use, transfer, and delete that information. Salatomatic is a service of Halalfire Media LLC. Information we collect and how we use it When you register, we require only basic information to setup and service your account: first and last name, email, and country of residence. We use this information to authenticate your account, deliver the Services, and personalize messages to you. All other registration fields and personal information (bio, phone numbers, personal website, social media accounts) are optional. With the exception of the user bio, this information is kept private. If you do not want your bio made public, you should not fill it in. Salatomatic also filters content for the purposes of fighting and preventing spam, fraud, and other forms of abuse. Beyond this basic information, users can control the following privacy settings during the registration process and at any time by editing their user profile in Account Settings: whether they are anonymous to other users (via a username); can be contacted by others on the platform; and can receive Salatomatic email communications about services that might be of interest. You are free to use Salatomatic without registering; however, you will not be able to leave ratings and reviews; personalize your experience; or receive new mosque notifications from Salatomatic, and other information that might be of interest. When using the Services, we use your location data anonymously to deliver relevant mosque banners and ads to you on the desktop, mobile, and app. We also collect anonymized search queries in order to develop market research. If you provided us with location information in your profile, this is used to send location-based email marketing delivered directly by Salatomatic on behalf of advertisers, provided that you opt-in to these services. While we sometimes provide advertisers with aggregate level data (number of Salatomatic users in a given location, for example), we never provide these advertisers with any information about individual users or personal data. We also never sell information about you to others. We may share your account information with third parties in limited circumstances, including: (1) after having received your consent; (2) to a service provider or partner who meets our data protection standards; (3) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, such as pursuant to a subpoena or other legal processes; and (4) when we have a good faith belief that doing so will help prevent imminent harm to someone. If we are going to share your information in response to a legal process involving you, we’ll give you notice so you can challenge it (for example by seeking court intervention), unless we’re prohibited by law or believe doing so may endanger others. We will object to requests for information about users of our services that we believe are improper. Third party services When you create or update your Salatomatic account by authenticating with a third-party service (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn) we may collect, store, and periodically update information associated with that third-party account, such as your lists of friends or followers. If you login through social media, Salatomatic will use that social media avatar as your Salatomatic profile picture on your reviews. We will never publish through your third-party account without your permission. When you interact with an email sent from Salatomatic (such as opening an email or clicking on a particular link in an email), we may receive information about that interaction. We will never email you to ask for your password or other account information. If you receive such an email, please send it to us so we can investigate.
