SUNNI Also known as 'Jubilee Mosque' and 'Mosque of the Thousandth Anniversary of the Adoption of Islam', it was completed in 1926. It was closed by the authorities in the 1930s and reopened for worship in 1991. The mosque is located on the eastern shore of Lake Kaban. Initially the mosque had one prayer room - the building was modified during the Soviet era - it now has two floors - the first used for prayer and the second for the madressa.
