★★★★★ Lots of reviews are outdated. New imam is very knowledgeable and cares about the brothers and sisters at the masjid. Posted on December 5, 2019 |

★★★★★ Can't speak regarding the woman's side, but I really like this masjid. One of the most diverse I've ever been to.
Be warned though- it gets crowded during Jumah. There's a basement with more seating available but it has temporary seating unlike the main prayer hall. Recommend parking at the church lot next door, but if you come too late that one gets full too. Posted on October 11, 2014 |

★★★★☆ I've been to this masjid for 8 years. I've seen this masjid grow and improve especially for the full-time Islamic school, from being just an entity at the masjid's basement into one that has its own building. This is one of the pioneer masajids that has spawned others in Indianapolis to cater for the convenience of the jama'ah especially for Jumu'ah. The diversity of the demographics make you feel more welcomed. There are fiqh and Qur'an memorization classes conducted on-site to name a few as well as the regular Sunday school. As a self-supporting and fledgling masjid compared to the ones in Detroit or Washington DC, if you will the expression, there are teething problems and catering to the whims of every Tom, Dick or Harry may prove quite difficult. Since the post made on February 20, 2006 the masjid now has a larger space for sisters as well as overflow areas for both brothers and sisters. The masjid committee constantly monitors the khutbah by having a resident scholar from Algeria training khateebs and checking the contents.
Despite the many shortcomings I still go to this masjid just because of the serene feeling I when I am there. It's very hard to explain in words, but that's the best I can do. Posted on June 9, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ Let's just say, if I wasn't Muslim before I came to Al-Fajr, I never would have converted. Facilities are cramped at best. The women's area stinks - one tiny room with poor ventilation and a covered window, a dirty bathroom and another small room on the other side of the bathroom for praying. Women are discouraged from praying in the back of the musalla. Khutbahs are poor quality political rantings. Imam has little knowledge of Arabic and has poor recitation. Sisters - STAY HOME! This place is not worth your time. Posted on February 20, 2006 |
