SUNNI Smithfield Mosque was established by Bosnian migrants from the early-1960s to late-1970s under the name Bosnian Brothers Islamic Society (Bosanska Bratska Islamska Zajednica NSW). It was later renamed to Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in memory of the founder of the city of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today it is commonly known as the Smithfield Mosque.
