SUNNI The Ayasofya Camii mosque complex is named in memory of the transformation of Hagia Sophia into a mosque after the conquest of Constantinople by the Ottomans. The mosque association has about 185 registered members. The number varies from 800 to 1000 on Fridays, when the main weekly prayer is held. In this complex of buildings are rooms for the women, children and students. For the members there are a coffee shop and a grocery store where fresh produce can be bought. A small library of Islamic books is available. Weekends will find both Quran and Arabic classes for those interested instead. Regular 5-times a day joint worship service is performed. The young people and families may use the mosque premises for events, seminars, weddings, etc. A large room in the basement is for the youth as a youth room, where there are also snooker and table tennis tables.
