SUNNI Islamic Society of Seacoast Area is located about 60 miles north of Boston nestled in the beautiful towns along the Atlantic Ocean coastline of New Hampshire and southern Maine. The Society was formed in 1994 and incorporated in 1997 under the umberilla of Islamis Society of North America, ISNA as a religious and non-profit organization. ISSA was officially registered with the State of New Hampshire as an indepedent non-profit organization in 2004. The community consists of a diverse group of Muslims that hail from many parts of the world including the United States. The Muslim students at the University of New Hampshire in Durham form an important segment. The seacoast area has a population of 100+ Muslim families. This area, also known as the seacoast, has experienced extraordinary economic growth recently.
