The Manchester Central Mosque was built from a converted Victorian school building. The mosque used to have two large minarets which were recently removed, apparently for safety reasons. Added on June 26, 2005 and last updated 11 years ago
★☆☆☆☆ Brelvi orientated makes me a bit uncomfortable. Especially when perfoming extra praises on the prophet (pbuh) such as celebrating his birthday. The mosque is beautiful on the inside though. Posted on November 5, 2013
★★★★★ Salaam to all brothers and sisters, since reading the last review about this masjid it has not given any justice. All masjid are ALLAH houses so should be treated equally regardless of background, age, etc.
I have been to this masjid a few times over the last 6 months and mashallah I can say what a beautiful masjid they have made, a lot of time and effort has gone into making this masjid and who for? The community, I shouldn't have to tell you the masjid is like this or that. Every Muslim has the right to judge for themselves and to all my sisters there is a separate entrance for you which is always opened, the whole top floor is dedicated to the females and has been covered so no man can see.
Inshallah they will be making a madressa soon so all brothers and sisters are requested to donate generously.
Please Remember me and my family in your dua
Asalaam walykum

★☆☆☆☆ Although this was built as a multicultural masjid by brothers from several backgrounds, sadly those elements were pushed out and it is now very unwelcoming to those not from a Subcontinent background; womens access is not guaranteed in fact the womens entrance is usually firmly locked. It is also heavily bareilwi oriented; if you want to visit a more rounded masjid in Manchester go to MYF or Didsbury Posted on November 23, 2005
