SUNNI Untill 1997, the site of the Al-Jalal Masjid had been used as a church for decades. A small group of individuals purchased the property and established a masjid by the Grace and Mercy of Allah (swt). Initially, there were a few muslim households in the near vicinity of this masjid, now Alhamdhullilah the muslim community has grown substantially. Jummah prayers now over-spill into the carpark and street pavements. Al-Jalal Masjid is located at a key junction between the Biscot, Leagrave and Saints area providing a place of prayer for more than 750 people. Unlike many other masjids, Al-Jalal Masjid has a board of trustees and is run by the management committee in order to enable closer communication with the public and the community at large. The new masjid has been built on the old foundations but now comprises of two floors- doubling capacity and improving accessibility, Separate wudu and toilet facilities and car parking facilities at the rear of the masjid.
