SUNNI Often referred to as the Sibu mosque, it is located at Jalan Ramli Amit, near to both the federal and state complexes along the main road. Its golden dome can be seen from afar and is also within easy reach for the faithful whose kampongs are located not too far along Jalan Kampung Datu. With fully carpeted interiors and air-conditioned hall, worshippers find the sacred mosque a cool and pleasant place to be in. Accommodating congregations anywhere between 1,000 to 3,000 people, the An-Nur Mosque is one of the biggest in Sarawak. A huge Banyan tree in front of the road along the open space gives a soothing feel to the mosque.
