SUNNI The Jersey Islamic Center is currently the only Mosque We offer services of the hundreds of Muslims on the Island. The Jersey Islamic Center aims to provide a safe place for Muslims to practice their faith and further their spiritual development. The Islamic community in Jersey has a population of women and children. The community boasts a multinational and multicultural character. Muslims in Jersey first started praying together at an individual’s home for Jummah prayers due to the lack of a communal place to pray As the number of Muslims attending prayer and moving on to the Island increased the community came together to rent a hall for Friday prayers at the St. Thomas Church. In 2012, through the fundraising efforts of the congregation a building, formerly a Methodist Church, was purchased and converted into a mosque finally providing a central place for all Muslim residents and visitors to gather.
