NR I happened to be close to this masjid at the time of Zuhr yesterday so I joined the jamaat. I was surprised to find the masjid almost full for Zuhr salaah on a weekday but then I realized that there was a janaza taking place. Anyways, the facility is clean and well maintained and the musallees were orderly. One of the board members gave a talk before the janaza and it was in Urdu. Get a life guys, everybody in America does not understand or talk Urdu. Posted on September 11, 2015 |

★★★★★ I grew up in this mosque. It is a converted old silent theatre - so the stage is still there as well as performance balconies. They just did a rehab of the external facade. Wudu area and bathroom are clean. Parking is available. Posted on May 30, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ A good size mosque. Kinda got lost trying to find where to do wudu for women. Husband freaked out because he saw a mouse while he was praying. Upside: An older convert struck up a conversation with me while I was waiting for my husband, which rarely happens to me. Unfortunately, I heard she passed away not long after and I never got a chance to thank her for that. Posted on May 21, 2012 |

★★★★☆ I've been attending the Masjid MCC for about 5 years now. The Salaah being on time a major plus. Imam Faisal one of the best recitors I've heard in America usually leads salaah now with some other brothers filling in when he's unavailable. The community as previously stated is very diverse and has a strong Muslims from all over the world. This community has brothers who are rooted in the Kitab and Sunnah. Its not uncommon to find 200 or 300 brothers for Maghrib or Isha on any given night especially the weekends. Subhanallah! Many programs and lectures take place here. Ibraheem Zidan ( Egypt) and Shaikh Saalim at Taweel ( Kuwait) recently attended. Programs for the kids are available. Posted on July 16, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ MCC is a very excellent masjid if you live in the chicagoland area. They have very good faclities for both men and women. However, there is a lot of politics involved and I agree with comment of MCC being compared to that of a mosque in the third world. Their system there is not really firm; they do things one year and do something the next year. Taraweeh prayers also have not been the same. Maulana Abdullah Saleem was leading for 20yrs. then for three years his student led there. But last year he was not there and the majority loved the young hafiz saab. MCC just needs to get their act together in their agenda. Posted on March 4, 2009 |

★★★★★ MCC is one of the largest and oldest masjids in Chicago. The masjid has funeral services (including facilities to wash the deceased), Saturday/Sunday schools, evening lectures by the imam, an attached dawah center with tons of activities for converts, and facilities for small parties. It is also host to monthly health screenings and zakat/sadaqa distribution to community members who need them. The building is old and the parking lot is cramped but this masjid is full of life and home to a gigantic community that is increasingly diverse. Almost everything (including khutbas) is in English except for one weekly Arabic lecture. Posted on November 16, 2008 |

★★★★☆ I have to laugh at the review before mine. Not saying it is not accurate, maybe too accurate. MMC is not fancy. To its credit, it is a very ethnically diverse community. Most of its members are serious about being Muslim. Posted on August 18, 2006 |

★★★★☆ I cannot believe i get to be the first to review MCC! Which is one of the oldest and most prominent of masajid in Chicago. A decidedly working class Islamic Center in a city choke full of suburbs and resulting elistist professional class of Muslims and their suburban pseudo masajid-catering centers-exercise clubs. When you go to MCC, you literally feel like you are in some big mosque in some third world Muslim country. The people are abrupt and quick tempered, the khutabahs have a tinge of firebrand to them and everybody is universally treated with disdain by the harried staff. Posted on June 17, 2006 |
