Originally established in 1969, the Raza Jamia Masjid was originally situated on Blackburn Road. The centre had a capacity of only 100 members. In 1987 the new building on Grimshaw Street was purchased which accomodated 800 men and women, including new facilities for education, parking, and additional prayer rooms.
