SUNNI Established in 1998, Illiana Islamic Association (IIA) is located in the city of Highland, Indiana which is about 25 miles from downtown Chicago, Illinois. It provides a place oof worship, religious education and community services for the diverse and multi-ethnic Islamic community of Northwest Indiana. Our organization has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a bona fide religious organization pursuant to 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We have a Board of Trustees made up of dedicated Muslims in the community who oversee the direction and activities of the organization. Since 2002 we have owned and three-acre location in a residential area of Highland where we converted a two flat apartmentge four car garage into male and female prayer halls and six classrooms. Our large prayer hall accommodates up to 175 worshippers. From this location we host Friday weekly prayer services, religious holiday events and educational activities. We offer instruction in Holy Quran and Sunnah to children and adults including weekly Sunday school from 9AM to 1PM. In addition, we offer counseling, organized family social events, as well as Islamic orientation and education for non-Muslims.
