SUNNI The Derby Islamic Centre holds daily prayers 5 times a day, including sermon and Friday congregational prayer. It also provides and maintains facilities for worship and promote Islam, liaises with neighbouring mosques to organise events and conferences marking and celebrating religious festivals, and provides translation services.
Derby Islamic Centre is self-funded and organised, open to all Muslims. An Executive Committee looks after the general expenses of the Mosque, manages development work, activities and services. The mosque provides prayers and advice, holds discussions, celebrations of Islamic festivals, and provides religious and social support. Lectures to students at schools of all ages on Islam, beliefs and cultures is also available. Member of Derby Racial Equality Council.
