American Muslim Association of Lawton (AMAL) was formed in 2008 and was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in Oklahoma on May 27, 2008. AMAL obtained federal tax exemption status under Federal Income Tax section 501 © (3) of the internal revenue code on April 18, 2014.The mission of the AMAL is to provide a place of worship/prayer to Muslims of Lawton and surrounding areas; create opportunity of Islamic education and research; hold religious festivals and create a platform for inter-faith dialogue to create better understanding among people of different faith.
