The Islamic Association of West Virginia was established in 1972 by the newly arrived Muslim immigrants. Its aim was to provide a platform for the Muslim families in the state, who were few and scattered, to get together for religious and cultural activities. The Muslim community of West Virginia is a vibrant community made up of educated professionals who maintain a great deal of interaction with other Muslims and non-Muslims in harmony. The Center has brought recognition and respect for Muslims from the community at large. The new generations are growing up with confidence and pride in their heritage and excelling in their careers.
