Imamia Education Society (IES) was formed in 1999 as a 501(3c) non-profit organization to provide a platform to serve the religious and educational needs of the Shia Ithna Ashari community of Colorado. Since its inception, IES has held regular weekly Dua Kumayl programs, functions on major Islamic occasions (births and deaths of Infallibles, Eids, etc.), and ten days of commemoration in Muharram. Lectures are delivered by Dr. Liyakat Takim, a professor of religious studies at the University of Denver, as well as invited speakers and scholars from out of state. These programs are open for attendance to all those who wish to learn about the teachings of Islam, the Holy Qur'an, and the Holy Household of the Prophet. Last updated 3 years ago
