Islamic Center of Dayton: ★★★★ Stopped here while passing through en route to Illinois. Mosque is very convenient off of Route 35. It's in a cute neighborhood called the St Anne's historic district surrounded by old style homes with great architecture. The mosque itself looks to be an old church converted. There are several other fantastic churches in the neighborhood. Inside the mosque has tons of space is air conditioned and was open when we stopped by in between Maghreb and isha. Thumbs up. Masjid Al-Noor: ★★★ I have to give this place a 3. We arrived and found no womens section and all these men scrambling to find a place for my wife to pray. It's a large facility but they said go to this masjid or that masjid instead. After some high level negotiation however the people in charge were pretty helpful and opened up a separate room for her. Alls well that ends well but they should be making better accommodations for 50percent of Muslims. (Submitted on April 7, 2012)
Tabaq Mosque: ★★★★ Mosque located in basement of tabaq restaurant. It's open 24/7. Owner (or owners son) is super nice. I'd go back just bc he offered me a free cup of chai mosque is clean. Has wudu area. Unfortunately parking can be very tough because it's a crowded area. (Submitted on March 30, 2012)
Masjid Al-Faatir: NR Indeed this masjid is very beautiful. Unfortunately it is not open all the time. Also, more problematic is the content of the khutbahs. They can be extremely antagonistic against women, children and non-Muslims. Women's section is clean but if you're wearing pants then they may force you to wrap a piece of cloth around your awrah. Masjid Al-Ihsan: ★★★★★ For Hyde park Muslims masjid al-Ihsan is the place to be. It's small and crowded but you feel like your surrounded by real people. The imam consistently gives excellent khutbahs that are relevant to our life as Americans in the the big city. (Submitted on November 5, 2011)
Indonesian Embassy: ★★★★ A good place to go for jummah if you're working in DuPont Circle or anywhere downtown near 20th and K but not close enough to GW. (Submitted on January 9, 2007)
Georgetown MSA Prayer Room: ★★★★★ This is probably one of the nicest places to pray in all of the Washington DC metro area. Mohamed Zakariya's calligraphy is awe inspiring and the room is painted in such a way that it has an inner glow. Check out the article about it in Islamica Magazine called "Sacred Space: The Mosque of Two Pillars" (Submitted on January 9, 2007)
