Ottawa Main Mosque: ★★★ One of the oldest and largest mosques in all of Ottawa. I've attended Jumma here a few times. They have a Saturday night program every week with interesting topics and speeches. (Submitted on July 11, 2014)
Jami Omar: ★★★ This masjid has renovated several times over the past few years. Located outside Ottawa in Nepean. I attended a janaza here and prayed Jumma here. The Wudu and ghusl area is large, expansive, and clean. (Submitted on July 11, 2014)
Islamic Society of Cumberland: ★★★★★ Well run Masjid, clean, and large. Maulana Baddat and the masjid administration here is very good with Mr. Tahawar Rana as President. He is doing a great job at ensuring the masjid attracts both young and old members and has totally changed the conventional way in which many masjids are run. Very organized and transparent. I recommend. (Submitted on July 11, 2014)
Napredak Hall (SBIA): ★★★ I'm not Sunni, but I have attended Friday prayer here once. This is not a masjid, but rather a hall rented every Friday for jummah prayers. (Submitted on June 30, 2014)
South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA): ★★★ I've been here a few times to attend various events. Nicely run and organized masjid. I'm not Sunni, so I wouldn't return here, unless invited to attend a special event. (Submitted on June 30, 2014)
San Ramon Valley Islamic Center (SRVIC): ★★★★ Nice, clean area for jumma prayers. The khatib was knowledgeable and credentialed, unlike many friday prayer speakers in the area who just speak from personal observations, rather than knowledge gained through use of formal training and education. I was impressed. Located just south of Crow Canyon in a retail/office park. (Submitted on June 17, 2013)
Muslim Community Center of East Bay: ★★★★ Nice, big space for Friday prayers. Great speakers, who are engaging, and relevant. Speakers rotate every Friday. Parking can be a challenge. Get there early. Offers five daily prayers and two jummas. (Submitted on June 17, 2013)
Islamic Society of the East Bay: ★★★★ I don't follow the school of thought at this masjid, but have attended a few gatherings here that I was invited to. Fairly large masjid, especially since the renovations that took place a few years ago. (Submitted on January 2, 2013)
Mecca Masjid: ★★★★ Mecca Masjid is located off Beechnut and HWY 6. It is also located adjacent to a Muslim school, Hijaz academy (also run by the masjid). Not a big masjid but offers two Friday prayers. (Submitted on December 31, 2012)
Masjid Al-Rasool Al-Akram: ★★★★★ Masha'Allah a huge masjid. Well organized, clean and full of Muslims from all ethnicities. Excellent programs and Friday prayer service. This is a Shia Masjid. (Submitted on December 31, 2012)
Al-Ghadeer: ★★★★★ This masjid is located directly across the street from masjid Al-Rasool. Al Ghadeer has daily evening programs during the month of Muharram with learned scholars as guest speakers. I was very impressed after attending one of their programs on 12/26/12. I recommend and would return if in the area again. (Submitted on December 31, 2012)
Islamic Education Center: ★★★★★ Huge Masjid, Masha'Allah. How many Masjids have you seen/been to that have their own parking structure? This is the main Shia masjid in the greater Houston area. But don't let that fool you, because there are people from all backgrounds and schools of thought that attend programs here. Well organized and operated, and the management is very forward thinking and respectful. There is also a restaurant in the back that makes some pretty awesome burgers and fries. I would attend here if I lived in the area. (Submitted on December 31, 2012)
Yaseen Centre of Manitoba: ★★★★★ Masha'Allah, a nice center located directly across from City Pizza. This is a Shia mosque, and the brothers were very friendly and inviting. (Submitted on November 19, 2011)
Winnipeg Central Mosque: ★★★★ Nice sized Sunni mosque located on the same block as Yassen Center and City Pizza. This place gets real busy for Jummah prayers when they had it. It is very common for many brothers to walk over to City Pizza after Friday prayers to get a quick bite. Everyone seemed friendly. (Submitted on November 19, 2011)
| Islamic Education Center: ★★★★★ IEC, located in Rockville/Potomac is an excellent Islamic center. A great place that has all types of services, including prayers, quranic and arabic lessons as well as a school. Attended Thursday night Dua Kumail and Jumuah prayers. They usually have a decent program on Friday evenings. Everyone I came into contact with here seemed pious, genuine and hospitable, just like every masjid should be. I usually go here on Fridays when I'm close to the Rockville area. (Submitted on March 27, 2011) | |
