Islamic Dawah & Education Centre: ★★★★★ The Masjid is on the top level of a building that is owned by a Muslim mechanic whose shop is around the corner. The Masjid is a little difficult to find so if you go to NAPA Eskimo Auto Care (which is technically the same address as a the Masjid), they can direct you there. The Masjid is one moderately sized open area that is open for all the prayers, including Jummah. Alhamdulillah, the local Muslims are very friendly and personable. There is a clean wudu area available as well. Masha'Allah, nice to see an established Masjid on the Island, especially for tourists on vacation. (Submitted on June 2, 2013)
Masjid Dar-us-Salaam: ★★★ Nice, small Masjid located in a relatively quiet working class part of the city. Strong, dedicated community. The Imam is a very pleasant, dedicated and knowledgable. Community is conservative. (Submitted on December 2, 2011)
Omar Bin El Khattab Mosque : ★★★★ Thrilled to find a mosque on the island. Actually a pretty large mosque that is very pretty both inside and outside. On their gates they have the crescent moon symbol. They have a wudu/restroom area in another building just a few steps away that is being renovated. Really really cool to see. Two quick tips would be that the island in general is not as friendly as other islands and in my brief interactions with the other brothers at the Mosque, they mirrored that. Also, while many people on the island speak english, it is not as common as other carribbean islands so bear that mind both in general and if you visit the Masjid. Now if you happen to fluent in Spanish, Dutch or the native language of Papiamento, you might be in luck. (Submitted on December 1, 2011)
Islamic Association of Eastern North Carolina: ★★★ Small community and Masjid that has grown over the years. Many of the members are linked to the local university (East Carolina). Members are pretty open and friendly. (Submitted on December 1, 2011)
Masjid ar-Rahmah: ★★★ My only complaint is the Mosque should have some type of distinguishing characteristic to let people, especially travelers and/or locals who are new to that part of town that they're at the right place. There is no visible sign or even crescent moon symbol on roof. The neighborhood is a student area that has fraternity houses. (Submitted on November 10, 2008)
Mosque Emmanuel: ★ I visited the Mosque and attempted to call but have never spoke to anyone or been able to go inside as it's been locked. I have no idea if the Mosque is open and functional. Would love to know since it's a shame for a Mosque to not be in use. (Submitted on November 9, 2008)
Masjid Al-Islam: ★★★ Masjid is still standing although damaged from Hurricane Katrina. Located in a working class area of New Orleans, the Masjid needs funds for repairs. Should receive more publicity so that other Muslim communities could offer assistane for repairs. (Submitted on November 9, 2008)
Masjid Dar ul-Huda: ★★★ Nice Masjid, great location, kinda small. Islamic school next door, appears to have at least some activities and events going on for the community. (Submitted on May 31, 2006)
Mustafa Center Mosque: ★★★ Beautiful Mosque, active community, packed for Jummah prayer, there are 2 Jummah prayer sessions. (Submitted on May 31, 2006)
Lackawanna Islamic Mosque: ★★★ Strong working class community that has been around since the '70's. Masjid has the 5 daily prayers, other events and a weekend school. Many attendees of the Masjid live in the surrounding neighborhoods. (Submitted on May 30, 2006)
Islamic Cultural Center of New York: ★★★★ Very nice Masjid, conveniently located. Gorgeous architecture, very spacious, nice bazaar outside after Jummah (Submitted on May 30, 2006)
Islamic Society of Mobile: ★★★ Very nice structure, Masjid is locked outside of prayer hours, a bit inconvenient for travelers and people new to the area. Best to call ahead to make sure Masjid is open (Submitted on May 29, 2006)
Biloxi Islamic Center: NR Masha'Allah, nice to see Masjid structure in relatively good shape after Hurricane Katrina, especially considering the damage done to the homes on the block. Masjid had been damaged, was undergoing some repair. Best to call to ensure that Masjid is up and functional (Submitted on May 29, 2006)
Masjid Muhammad: ★★★★ Nice Masjid, warm family atmosphere. Very nice location, The address of 4th street is also known as "Islamic Way", for the block that the Masjid is on. (Submitted on May 29, 2006)
Masjid ush-Shura: ★★★★ Alhamdulillah, nice masjid, warm atmosphere. The Masjid is small and resources are limited but the Imam is a genuine person who tries to lead the working class members of the community to strengthen themselves in their deen. The location is convenient however it is a rough area. Best to call ahead because Masjid is sometimes locked in between prayers. (Submitted on May 29, 2006)
