| Madinatul Uloom Academy: ★ worst school EVER. this is the place for out of control teenagers with raging hormones. sooo much fitnah in this school! heard many stories of the girls engaging in pre-marital "activities" while i was there myself. and whats with the sky high fees? am i going to send my child here, be ensured about a promiscous atmosphere, and go broke while i'm at it? no way. the bullying situation is is horrible here. students are bullied over EVERYTHING; race, color,looks, financial situation , EVERYTHING!
i would MUCH rather send my kids to a public school in DOWNTOWN than empty my pockets to send them here. (Submitted on April 26, 2012) |
| Tayyibah Islamic Academy: ★ This school is waaaaaay too strict, and some teachers are borderline rude. I send my kids to an islamic school so they can get a proper islamic environment along with a good solid education. Basically, islamic education takes a complete backseat, and the importance of academics is stressed sooo much that students are not allowed to take sick days off. When they do, they are subjected to prolonged lectures and speeches about "how you should come to school regardless of the circumstances"
The amount of homework given each night is ridiculous. How can students be expected to cope with so much? The facilities are almost nil. Students aren't always allowed to use the big fancy computer lab which they show so prominantly on their website, and the washrooms are just plain disgusting. most of all, the owners need an attittude check. I'd rather send my kids to public school than here.

| Mariyah: ★★★ Sent my daughter there for a while. The elementary is alright, not the best. The high school however is a different story. Many of the girls had boyfriends, and alot skipped school to go to nearby shopping malls. There is a whole facde that is put up to give parents the illusion that this school has it's girls under control, which may be the case for the elementary girls , but not for the high school. Any questions or concerns shown by worried parents are ignored and completely disregarded by the owner. (Submitted on March 30, 2012) |
| Al Ashraf: ★★★★ one of the best schools for an islamic education. What particularly impressed me is the level of conduct and etiquette in the students. Usually, islamic schools end up with girls who are wayward and can't be handled by their parents, so they end up getting dumped into an islamic school with the hopes that they will reform, a strategy which usually backfires because those few bad students mislead and corrupt everyone else. That is definately not the case here. The girls' side is very well behaved and the few bad apples that do turn up change, as they are in the minority.
