Masjid Al-Faatir: ★★★★★ Good mosque, khateeb is powerful. minarets - heard it was funded by Muhammed Ali the boxer. (Submitted on June 2, 2013)
Tabaq Mosque: ★★★ Prayed here while eating here. wudu area as well as bathrooms (Submitted on June 2, 2013)
Downtown Islamic Center: ★★★★★ This is a very clean mosque, in the heart of downtown. Most times it is locked (specially on the weekend) unless there is something going on. Never attended a Jumu'ah here, but I have prayed random salahs. It is good to find it here for the downtown musallis. (Submitted on June 2, 2013)
Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines: ★★★★★ (Submitted on June 2, 2013)
IIT MSA Mosque: ★★★★★ I went to IIT and this was my lifeline. I was president of the MSA and we had 5 times prayer jama'ah. Free Iftaars everyday. - Good food too. We would cater from major restaurants in Chicago w/ negotiated rates. There are halaqas, Jumu'ah khutbah, and Da'wah activites (via IAW). Go to msa.iit.edu for more info (Submitted on June 2, 2013)
Islamic Association of Finger Lakes: ★★★★ I live in Big Flats, moved from Vancouver/Chicago. This place has an Imam with a PhD in Theology from Temple University (Contact info: Masjid 607-562-3869 or cell 607-331-3858 ). There is a wudu area as well as clean bathrooms with lotas (water pitchers). The door has a combination and is kept locked except in Jumu'ah and Sundays around 1:15pm. There is a combination and the door can be unlocked if you are traveling. You can ask the Desi Corner Store across the street for access. Also if you need help, contact me : syedz7[at]gmail[dot]com. JazakumAllah khayr As for the address, it is correct, however as of now, the google map shown above is wrong... use google maps to get the correct directions: 62 Main StreetBig Flats, NY 14814. Oh there is a potluck most Sundays at 115pm after dhuhr. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
MEC: ★★★★★ I would go to this mosque often to pray taraweh as well as meet brothers here for young Muslims. New bathrooms, new wudu area. They recently just redid everything. The recitor was great as well. I came here for arabic classes a long time ago. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
Islamic Community Center of Illinois (ICCI): ★★★★★ I would come here to meet old friends that moved to this area from the MCC area as well as my college. Every thing is in arabic and between the four rakat out of eight, they have an arabic lecture. The bathrooms are clean and the wudu area was good. They have a big kitchen below. This I believe was a converted church. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
Bosnian Islamic Cultural Center: ★★★★★ Sh. Ibrahim Zidan came to this mosque for an English lecture. This mosque was very modern and the bathroom were as such. - clean. The musalla was very big (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
Masjid-e-Abubakr: ★★★★★ I was eating at a local indian/bangladeshi restaurante and I wanted to pray -- near the shadow of Wrigley field, we entered this mosque to make our jamaat prayer - wudu area and bathrooms... this had it all. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
Daryl Tawheed: ★★★★★ I would come here if I wanted to pray Asr is jamaat earlier as they follow the other opinion for Asr Salah. There bathroom is clean, wudu area is clean, and they have services all in English with Arabic to cite the sources. It is probably the only mosque on Devon that does it services in English other than ICNA Building . I think they have moved to 6314 North Western Avenue, Chicago, IL, across the street. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
Jamia Masjid: ★★★★★ I would pray here when I would go shopping on Devon Street. It has great parking, and a very big prayer area. It also has clean bathrooms, and a big wudu area. It is also up for expansion as it was a parking lot that they converted into a mosque. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
Masjid-e-Rahmat: ★★★★★ I would pray here sometimes if my mom was shopping at the nearby grocery store (Fresh Farms). They have hafiz and reading classes for little kids and I would come in to see the whole mosque full of kids. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
ICNA Dawah Center & Masjid: ★★★★★ I lived near here and would come for Salah often. There are many programs here especially YM (young Muslims) which I was involved in. They are run by ICNA, so their programs occure here often. THere is a combination and it is usually unlocked during all Salah times. I attended an arabic class here by ILF Chicago, by a student of Bayyinah as well as a Da'wah class by Dr. Sabeel. They also had a class for new converts. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
Muslim Community Center: ★★★★★ I grew up in this mosque. It is a converted old silent theatre - so the stage is still there as well as performance balconies. They just did a rehab of the external facade. Wudu area and bathroom are clean. Parking is available. (Submitted on May 30, 2013)
