| Islamic Center of Connecticut: ★ The Imam is extremely intolerant and has clashed with many members of the congregation. In doing so, I know many members have stopped attending the mosque for services and have looked elsewhere. I am a Connecticut local resident and have been my whole life. This is possibly the most conservative (which I have no problem with) and intolerant (which I do have a problem with) mosque in the entire Hartford area. Women are pretty much treated like crude. The Imam is highly arrogant. It's Salafi what do you expect? I won't be surprised if youthful fanatics come out of this mosque. If your looking for a mosque with a friendly atmosphere don't come here, I highly recommend the Islamic Association of Greater Hartford in Berlin,CT which is still religious albeit full of family friendly kind people that give Islam the name of a welcoming and warm religion. That community is Open-minded but still a community of good practicing Muslims. This mosque is a polar opposite of that community. Don't come here unless you want to get brainwashed. | Islamic Center of University of Connecticut: ★★★ Correction: The tradition of this mosque is not sunni, it's salafi. The MSA is full of nice people albeit there are many conservative elements and it can often not include women in many of the events. (Submitted on December 6, 2011) |
| Islamic Association of Greater Hartford: ★★★★★ Arguably, the best mosque in Hartford County. I grew up in this mosque and with the members of the congregation. They are the most open-minded friendly people in the Muslim community in CT you will meet. Everyone can worship in peace here without being judged or name-called unlike other mosques in the state. It's welcoming and observant, something that is a rare quality in today's American mosques. Tolerance is a big pillar of its success. Everyone will greet you with a smile here. The mosque population has dramatically increased in the last few years due to this welcoming vibe. I highly recommend this mosque for the tolerant and the happy. (Submitted on December 6, 2011) |

| Bosnian American Islamic Society: ★★★ Very Nice Mosque mainly caters to the Bosnian community though. All khutbahs are given in the Bosnian language so unless your Bosnian you won't understand what is going on. It is not only a mosque but serves as a cultural center for their community. Most elderly people only speak Bosnian/ have limited English skills so if you come to pray you might get lost in translation. (Submitted on December 6, 2011) |
