| Dar-al-Taqwa: ★★★★★ Love this Masjid. I was a bit worried about where to do Friday prayers when I started occasionally working in the area on Fridays. Found this Masjid and I love it. Quthbas have been beautiful and every Qateeb has been very interesting and inspirational. If I ever relocate my residence, I would definitely consider this area just because of this Masjid. Sounds like they have a lot of activities for families, youth, adults, etc. I read somewhere that they also offer Saturday and Sunday Islamic School!!!
Some side notes:
Demographics on this page say “Predominantly African” but Jumah crowd seems very diverse.
One of the reviewers said that there is a cafeteria in the building… I did not know that! Next time I am there I will be sure to look for it. (Submitted on May 9, 2012) |
| Islamic Society of Frederick: ★★★★ Masjid is beautiful and seems to be continuously expanding, Alhamdulillah.
I will go in to this only because there is a comment on it already… to be fair, I have seen the bathrooms both clean and dirty but I must say they are very clean most of the time. The only times I have seen them get dirty is during busy times like Jumah, Ramadhan, etc. Even then, they have been cleaned up fairly quickly in my opinion.
Having said that… This Masjid has seen a decline in recent years (in my sole opinion). There used to be great Imam at this Masjid that I miss very much (not to take anything away from the current Imams, I love them both and they are good at what they do). The Sunday school is just not the same anymore. The diversity seems to be on the decline.
However, I feel that I must close with this… please know that a Masjid is a Masjid is a Masjid! People will come and go but you must always protect/support the house of god whether in high-times or low. Inshallah, this Masjid will once again rise up to its goals and commitments and be the shining star of the community. (Submitted on May 9, 2012) |
