Flint Islamic Center: ★★★★★ I went to this masjid a few years back. They are a fairly large and active community with many programs going on. They also have an indoor basketball full court and a decent sized prayer hall. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. (Submitted on March 6, 2011)
NAIF Center: ★★★ I went to the facility they rent for Jummah in Sterling (The Sterling community center). I was not impressed as the Khutbah was not in English-- as the Sunnah is to have the khutbah and any communication in the common language of the land. (Submitted on March 5, 2011)
Silicon Valley Academy: ★★★★★ I have known people who have sent their children to this school and have heard very good things about the quality of teachers as well as the high standards and expectations of its students. The school is growing and continues to produce young adults ready to perform well for high school. (Submitted on March 1, 2011)
La Grande Mosquee de Paris: ★★★★★ I went here for Jummah and it was awesome experience. It was my first time visiting a masjid in France and I was amazed by the beautiful architecture, the amazing garden and courtyard with fountain. They also have an Arabic bakery and hamaam on the backside of the masjis (which is around corner). Definitely worth checking out if you are in Paris. (Submitted on February 28, 2011)
Masjid Waritheen: ★★★★★ This is a very active community. The masjid offers a variety of services to the community. I heard recently they were having financial problems and might be shutting down. I really hope that is not the case as they are an asset to the community. (Submitted on February 28, 2011)
Great Mosque of Granada: ★★★★★ I went to this masjid for Jummah a couple of times. It is a beautiful masjid with an active community (predominantly Muslims from North Africa). Believe it or not, this masjid which opened in 2003 was the first masjid in Granada since the Alambra was conquered and shut down !! The masjid is located on a hill and has a great view of the Alambra. (Submitted on February 28, 2011)
Islamic Center of Virginia: ★★★★★ I dropped by this masjid for Asr prayer. The masjid is quite spacious. There was some construction going on, so it looked like they were expanding. The community seemed decent sized. (Submitted on February 27, 2011)
Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City: ★★★★★ I went here for Jummah many times. This is a very active and growing community. The masjid is quite spacious with good facilities and they offer a variety of services to the community. (Submitted on February 27, 2011)
Islamic Center of Long Island (ICLI): ★★★★ I have been to this masjid many times. It's a decent sized masjid with an active community. The only problem is that they do not have adequate parking. (Submitted on February 26, 2011)
Dergah al-Farah: ★★★★ I went to this masjid for Jummah before. It is a decent sized masjid in th heart of lower Manhattan. For Jummah it serves as a commuter masjid as there people who attend come from all over. I was really impressed to the ethnic diversity at this masjid. (Submitted on February 26, 2011)
Downtown Muslim Association of Seattle: ★★★★★ I went here Jummah and mashallah there was big turnout. The masjid is located in th heart of downtown Seattle close to Pike street. They seem like a very active community. (Submitted on February 26, 2011)
Islamic Heritage Center: ★★★★ This is a fairly large community which is growing. The masjid is located in a shopping center at Cedar and Park Roads (next to Pizza Boli). They currently pray Jummah at the Dunn Loring fire station. I prayed Jummah prayer there at the 2nd Jummah where the Khutbah was not in English. However, although the Kutbah was in Arabic they provide audio headsets for people to listen it which provide live translation. They have a huge crowd for Jummah and are also trying to raise funds so they move into a permanent facility which they purchased but need to renovate. (Submitted on February 19, 2011)
Masjid Omar Ibn Al Khattab: ★★★★★ This is a fairly large masjid in the heart of downtown LA located close to USC. I have been here for Jummah and Isha prayers. The masjid offers a wide variety of activities and events for the community. What I really like about this masjid is that it is really engaged with the Greater community (city of LA) at large. They have done many events with city officials and leadership. It also serves as a commuter masjid for those who work in the area. (Submitted on February 10, 2011)
| Masjid Al-Hedaye & Kavkaz Cultural Center: ★★★★★ I attended a fundraising dinner here for the masjid back in '09. This is a very active community that is trying to expanded its masjid services. They currently have a decent sized dining hall and Sunday School in the facility. The prayer hall is fairly large and looks beautiful. The community is very warm and friendly. Please support them. | SABA Islamic Center: ★★★★ I am not Shia but came to this masjid to attend the Nikkah of a friend. I found the community to be active and quite hospitable. The masjid is pretty big and I noticed they have a fairly large dining hall. I don't attend lectures or programs here as I do not follow the shia school of thought, but I would return here if there were an event I was invited to. (Submitted on February 9, 2011) | |
