| Masjid Ibrahim: ★ Was driven to this Masjid on Tues, 25 May 2010, after a failed attempt to pray at Masjid Al-Ansar. Upon arrival the masjid was locked, but a brother sitting in his car outside in the parking lot said it might be open at 1330 for dhuhur. This was at abt 1240. I came back at about 1325 and saw that the lights and fans were on inside but all the doors were still locked. I couldn't see anyone inside, but I knocked anyway. The aforementioned brother was no longer in his car which was still the only one in the parking lot. While praying outside of the masjid I heard someone exit the masjid, start their car, and drive away. Of course after finishing, it was clear that the brothers car was no longer in the parking lot. Additionally, the address listed on this website is incorrect. There is nothing on 6th Ave/63rd streetish that resembles a masjid. Only 2 story apt buildings. The masjid I went to, which I was told was Masjid Ibrahim, is on 7th Ave btwn 67 (Submitted on May 25, 2010) |
| Masjid Al-Ansar: ★★ Passing through MIA on Tuesday, 25 May 2010. Took the bus to this masjid hoping to be able pray dhuhur. I was about an hour or so early. While making wudu outside a sister walked up, rang the bell, and was let inside. Once finishing wudu I did the same and was told that this "was a closed Masjid because it has a school", and that it wouldn't be open to the public for dhuhur salaat. The brother I spoke with did give me a ride down the street to Masjid Ibrahim which he thought might be open for dhuhur. May Allah reward him for his kindness. (Submitted on May 25, 2010) |
