| Lighthouse Mosque: ★★★★★ Very good mix of young and old, as well as Arab and African American. Diverse group of students, activists and professionals as well as local residents. Came here for Jummah recently and was pleasantly surprised. Downside is that there is not that much space inside and the rest of the building (not part of the mosque) seems to be a little run down, although the neighboring area and businesses are active and secure. | Alameda Muslim League: ★★★★ This masjid is primarily Fiji masjid, but they are open to everyone. The masjid is still open and they are planning to do some renovations soon InshaAllah including upgrades to entry way, restrooms and kitchen area. Limited parking on the property, but there is plenty of street parking and nearby city parking lots (walking distance). (Submitted on June 23, 2012) |
| Al Falah Islamic Centre: ★★★★ Went here for Eid Prayers. Did not use the restrooms here, so not sure how clean they were or were not, but the musalla area was clean and seemed organized. I liked the digital display of prayer times as well as the TV monitor which also stated the prayer times and names of Khateebs giving Khutbah for the upcoming weeks. Very good sound system as well. Plenty of parking and good organization of volunteers for parking. (Submitted on November 8, 2011) |
| Anatolia Islamic Centre: ★★★★★ I have been to this masjid for Jummah a couple of times. It is a large complex with a school, grocery store/market, and restaurant inside. It is a Turkish masjid, but they have services in English as well. Very nice interior design and Islamic calligraphy work inside the main prayer area. The restaurant has very good shawermas and also turkish pizzas which are excellent. (Submitted on November 5, 2011) |
| Seekers Hub: ★★★★★ Seekers Hub is an Islamic Institution which offers classes, dhikr and mawlid programs. Shaykh Faraz Rabbani and Sidi Nader Khan are two of the leaders of the organization. I attended one of the lectures (they also are online) and mawlid programs and it was excellent. They also have community service programs such as the "Feed Me" campaign which helps to feed the poor and needy of the GTA. Currently they do not have regular prayers or Jummah here, but have prayers after their weekly programs. (Submitted on November 5, 2011) |
| PrayerSpace NYC: ★★★★ Went here for Jummah while I was visiting NYC. The bathrooms were not working when I was there. The prayer space is a decent size and got filled up during Jummah. There is a small area for Women in the back (no wall or barrier which is good). InshaAllah the place will look better once they renovate the place. It is inside the old Burlington Coat Factory and there is no large sign outside so it is easy to miss. (Submitted on June 9, 2011) |
| Zaytuna College: ★★★★★ Zaytuna College is not yet an accredited university in the United States, but InshaAllah it will happen soon. They started the college in 2010 and have Arabic and Islamic Studies classes. A great endeavor by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Imam Zaid Shakir, Prof. Hatem Bazian and others. (Submitted on April 8, 2011) |
| Mountain View Masjid: ★★★★★ Been here for Jummah a few times and also a Community Iftaar during Ramadan. A growing community. They only do Friday prayers here but InshaAllah they will be able to get a permanent location for 5 daily prayers soon. (Submitted on April 8, 2011) |
| Muslim Community Center of East Bay: ★★★★★ Very large facility located near the border of Dublin and Pleasanton, which has daily prayers, Jummah, and community events during Ramadan and through out the year. Growing community, Alhamdullilah. (Submitted on April 8, 2011) |
| Silicon Valley Academy: ★★★★★ Several of my friends send their children here and I also know a few of the founders and teachers here. It is highly ranked school in the State of California. They provide excellent Islamic foundation as well as excel in standard education for children as well. (Submitted on April 8, 2011) |
| Islamic Center of Livermore: NR Was in the area and tried to come here to do prayers around 3pm on Friday. Door was locked and there was no sign for masjid hours etc. (Submitted on November 5, 2010) |
| Ibrahim Khalilulah Islamic Center: ★★★ I stopped in here for Maghrib the other day. I missed the Jamat, so was a few minutes late, but there were 3 or 4 people inside. The interior of the masjid is very nice - great looking mihrab. But the lights in the hallways were dark and had a hard time finding the restrooms. Then when I started praying (2 other people were still praying Sunnah inside), they shut down the lights inside the masjid area for us. Looks like the people running the place were in a hurry to leave or something, but they should at least have waited until we finished praying before shutting the lights inside the masjid! | Masjid An-Noor: ★★★★ Small masjid in a residential area (close to Kabab & Curry restaurant). They have Jummah prayers here and also provide Islamic Funeral services. Limited parking. (Submitted on May 19, 2010) |
| Masjid Al-Tawheed: ★★★ Went here for Maghrib recently. Very nice recitation by the Imam during salat. Parking around here is very difficult. People were friendly but overall the "vibe" of the masjid does not seem to be a very open especially for women and Non-Arabs. Mostly Yemeni immigrants come here. (Submitted on April 18, 2010) |
| Oakland Islamic Center: ★★★★ Very nice looking masjid both inside and outside. Nearby Halal markets and restaurants all in the same neighborhood. Limited parking, but can park in the neighborhood streets. (Submitted on April 17, 2010) |
