Masjidul Waritheen: ★★★★★ During the time I lived in Oakland, this was my primary spiritual refuge. Always left Friday prayer feeling invigorated. I wish them all the best and will do what I can to help them. (Submitted on August 20, 2014)
Masjid Toronto: ★★★ The main floor (mens area) is quite beautiful, but the women's area is not quite up to the same level (so say my female friends). (Submitted on October 2, 2009)
Islamic Center of Columbia: NR Unfortunately, this masjid was burned down in what authorities believe was a hate-crime arson. (Submitted on April 4, 2008)
Islamic Society of Tulsa: ★★★ I am not a member of this mosque, but the leadership kicked out congregant Jamal Miftah for penning an article for the local paper that excoriated extremists and called on Muslims to be moderate. Bad, bad move, even though they did let him back in eventually... (Submitted on February 1, 2007)
Austin Peace Academy: ★★★★★ My son loves it here! Inshallah, I'll send my second son as well. The teachers are professional and compassionate. (Submitted on July 6, 2006)
Mustafa Center Mosque: ★★★★ I remember coming to jum'a prayer with my 2-year old in tow (I am the father, BTW). When one person in the men's section came to me and suggested harshly that I either leave w/my son or send him "back with your wife" (my wife was not in attendance), the other men around me rallied to my side and said not to pay any attention to the man. That speaks volumes about the character of the people who attend this masjid. (Submitted on June 17, 2006)
Jamil Islamic Center: ★★★★★ A charming place to pray or reflect. Regular dhikr sessions are held on Saturday nights. (Submitted on June 17, 2005)
Masjid Al-Iman: ★★★★★ A pleasant place to pray. Wish the mosque was larger to accomodate more people. (Submitted on June 17, 2005)
Islamic Center of Southern California: ★★★★★ I grew up attending this mosque, and can personally attest to their activism, professionalism, and progressive stands on issues. I can't think of another mosque that has had such a large impact on the greater American Muslim community than this one. This mosque had a majority of women on its board nearly two decades ago, and has had an independent youth group that manages to instill a well-balanced American Muslim identity. I credit this mosque for making me into the type of Muslim that I am today. (Submitted on May 27, 2005)
ADAMS Center: ★★★★★ I was impressed with the professionalism of this place. The ADAMS people certainly have their act together. I especially appreciate the diversity and quality of their programs. I just wish we lived closer to it so we could take advantage of them! (Submitted on May 26, 2005)
Georgetown MSA Prayer Room: ★★★★★ What a beautiful prayer room! Small, yet tastefully decorated, this room is an oasis for Georgetown students looking for a little peaceful reflection in between classes. (Submitted on May 26, 2005)
Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California: ★★★★★ What a wonderful masjid! The people here are so friendly, and I love to go there even though I am not Shi'a. (Submitted on May 17, 2005)
