The Islamic Center of Charlotte: NR I came here for Jumu'a today. The masjid was full to capacity, though they have a second Jumu'a as well. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The imam spoke on a relevant topic and his recitation in salaah was also very good (Submitted on April 25, 2014)
Valley Ranch Masjid: NR I came here for Jumu'a today and loved it. The masjid and facilities are clean, parking is sufficient and the locals are friendly. Sh. Omar Sulaiman also delivered a very inspiring khutba on gratitude. (Submitted on April 4, 2014)
Muslim Community of New Jersey: NR I performed Jumu'a here today. Community seemed well organized and close-knit. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The imam is a young Pakistani and his khutba was interesting and he delivered it in English and Arabic. (Submitted on March 21, 2014)
Muslim Majlis of Staten Island: NR I performed Maghrib salaah here this evening. There were very few people in the congregation. The imam recited clear and with good tajweed. The facilities were clean and well maintained. (Submitted on March 21, 2014)
Masjid Mustafa: NR I went there around Asr time last Sunday and found the premises locked. AlhamdulilALLAH, the was a notice with a contact number posted on the door. I called the number & Br Masood gave me the lockbox code without asking much questions. The bathrooms are unkempt whilst the salaah area is fairly maintained. (Submitted on March 11, 2014)
Masjid Al-Qassam: NR Wonderful community with great programs. Friday khutbas delivered by well educated scholars and the best part is that they provide headphones for the times when the khateeb delivers an arabic khutba so that people can listen to a simultaneous english translation. My one gripe is that when the board members make announcements they only speak arabic, without translating. (Submitted on March 11, 2014)
Islamic Society of the Tampa Bay Area: NR This is the largest masjid in Tampa Bay and maybe even in Florida. Accommodation and facilities are excellent and they have started a major expansion program as well. The masjid offers many community and educational programs to cater for a range of needs. The khutbas delivered by the local imams can be somewhat monotonous because management dictates what can or cannot be said. Also the management of this masjid never changes because the constitution ensures that in spite of annual elections the same people retain there position year after year. There are also a few of the regular musallees who have total disregard for everybody else. They park anywhere including disabled and no parking zones as well as block access lanes to the masjid. They will remove and leave there shoes at the doorway into the masjid and they will even push you away so they can stand behind the imam in salaah. (Submitted on March 11, 2014)
Muslim Community Center: ★★★★★ We were passing Indianapolis on our way home from Chicago and stopped at the masjid to perform salaah. It was just after Maghrib so there were no locals in the masjid. There was however a student jamaat from St Lois visiting here. After we left my wife realized that she forgot her watch in the wudhu area. We called the number listed here & Br. Mohammed promised to look for it. He called back later to say he could not find it but then called after 2 days to say that somebody had turned it in and he will mail it to us. Jamia Masjid: ★★ I have been praying at this masjid whenever I visit the area for the past 5 years. The maintenance of the wudhu area and restrooms have been deteriorating. I was there last Friday at Maghrib and there were dirty dishes in the wash basins and the wudhu area. There is also no accommodation for people who are disabled at the shoe racks. My wife says that ladies section was so unkempt that she left the masjid and prayed at a nearby restaurant instead. (Submitted on January 4, 2014)
Masjid al-Jamia: ★★★★ Went to this masjid for Dhuhr today. The atmosphere was real good and the locals were friendly. The bathrooms are small but well maintained and clean. (Submitted on September 21, 2013)
Central Mosque: ★★★★★ When I go to a masjid for the 1st time, especially for Jumu'a, I am always uncertain whether the khutba is going to be a madrassah lesson followed by another Arabic khutba which most often the khatib has just memorized and it is repeated because he cannot speak Arabic. At this masjid the khutba was appropriate and addressed the current issues, supported by quotations from Qur'an and Hadith. The masjid and facilities are also clean and well maintained. Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines: ★★★★★ Today was probably the 3rd or 4th time I performed Jumu'a at this masjid and I have enjoyed every Jumu'a here. The khatibs address the diverse jamaat and not only a certain sector, like in other masaajid where the khutba is in Urdu or some other other language that everybody does not understand. The masjid is also well maintained & the bathrooms & wudhu area is always clean. (Submitted on September 13, 2013)
