Masjid Dar ul-HudaNice Masjid, great location, kinda small. Islamic school next door, appears to have at least some activities and events going on for the community. (Submitted on 2006-05-31)
Mustafa Center MosqueBeautiful Mosque, active community, packed for Jummah prayer, there are 2 Jummah prayer sessions. (Submitted on 2006-05-31)
Lackawanna Islamic MosqueStrong working class community that has been around since the '70's. Masjid has the 5 daily prayers, other events and a weekend school. Many attendees of the Masjid live in the surrounding neighborhoods. (Submitted on 2006-05-30)
Islamic Cultural Center of New YorkVery nice Masjid, conveniently located. Gorgeous architecture, very spacious, nice bazaar outside after Jummah (Submitted on 2006-05-30)
Islamic Society of MobileVery nice structure, Masjid is locked outside of prayer hours, a bit inconvenient for travelers and people new to the area. Best to call ahead to make sure Masjid is open (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Biloxi Islamic CenterMasha'Allah, nice to see Masjid structure in relatively good shape after Hurricane Katrina, especially considering the damage done to the homes on the block. Masjid had been damaged, was undergoing some repair. Best to call to ensure that Masjid is up and functional (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Masjid MuhammadNice Masjid, warm family atmosphere. Very nice location, The address of 4th street is also known as "Islamic Way", for the block that the Masjid is on. (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Masjid ush-ShuraAlhamdulillah, nice masjid, warm atmosphere. The Masjid is small and resources are limited but the Imam is a genuine person who tries to lead the working class members of the community to strengthen themselves in their deen. The location is convenient however it is a rough area. Best to call ahead because Masjid is sometimes locked in between prayers. (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Islamic Center of LivermoreSmall Community, very tight-knit and active. Warm atmosphere. Masjid is small, located on the 2nd floor of an office building however there appears to be adequate resources (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Islamic Community Center of PhoenixNice structure but locked despite the posted hours on website. Very inconvenient for travelers and those new to the area. Call before attending to confirm Masjid is open. (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Islamic Society of BaltimoreLarge property with a Masjid and School. Very large community, diverse. Parking is very limited and the parking lot is basically one large paved lot that fills up quickly and then huge patches of grass and rocks. (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Masjid At-TaqwaAdmittedly, I'm biased because I was raised attending this Masjid in this city but it's a generally warm atmosphere, especially during the weekdays when a devout group of brothers maintain prayers in congregation. The Khateeb is an excellent reciter of the Quran and does a great job leading Jummah and Taraweh prayers. (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Masjid An-NurVery nice Masjid, adequate accomodations. Sunday School and Full-time Islamic School on the premises. Only drawback is sometimes nationalistic and political agendas become an issue. (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Islamic Center of JacksonSmall community, nice Masjid with limited resources. Not many people attend the Masjid on a regular basis but the few devout members that regularly attend are very friendly and welcoming. I traveled through this area and stopped to pray at the Masjid. After a few minutes, a brother drove to the Masjid to open the doors (it's locked in between prayers, safety purposes). The brother was very engaging and said that usually he takes his time coming to the Mosque to open the doors, particularly for Fajr and Isha prayers since people do not attend regularly but after having travelers come, it renewed his enthusiasm and optimism to get to the Masjid as a soon as possible. Great memory! (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Islamic Society of NevadaGorgeous Masjid both inside and outside. Plenty of resources, even has a small bookstore in the lobby. Drawbacks are the Masjid is locked in between prayers and only certain members are allowed access. Very inconvenient and disappointing for a traveler to be told that they cannot come into the Mosque because it's "closed". Not a particularly friendly atmosphere (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Mosque FoundationGorgeous Masjid, well known school across the street. Active community, very spacious Masjid, adequate resources for both men and women. Library is excellent (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
Islamic Center of Greater Toledogorgeous masjid, very spacious, plenty of resources. Ideal location (Submitted on 2006-05-29)
