Masjid al-Qur'an
1 reviews
Rating: 4.0

Description: The community of Masjid Al-Qur'an was founded in the 1930s in Boston's South End. It started its life as an NOI Temple and entered the fold of orthodox Islam in the 1970s with Imam W.D. Muhammad. Masjid Al-Qur'an is affiliated with the American Society of Muslims, an Islamic community in association with the leadership of Imam W. D. Mohammed, which proclaims in word and deeds the universal message of Al-Islam that there is but One G-d and one human family. With its distinctive green awning, the red brick building easily accommodates the 150-200 men and women who gather for prayer every Friday at 1:00 P.M. In addition to Friday community prayers, Masjid Al-Qur'an has an extensive array of educational and social activities including Islamic education classes.

Women do pray in the same space as men here, and there are a number of social and social service programs, including a Scout troop. The mosque does offer the 5 daily prayers.
