SUNNI The London Islamic Cultural Society was formed in July 1983 predominantly by Muslims from the Caribbean in particular Guyana, South America. In July 1987 LICS purchased the current building in Wightman Road and in October 1991 land adjacent to the Centre was purchased from Haringey Council. In September 1998 works commenced on the new building project. The Society has completed the construction of the new building project and through the generosity of members we have raised almost all the necessary finance for the completion of this construction, Haringey's first purpose-built mosque.
