The Islamic Academy of Riverside was founded in 1987 to serve the Muslims of Riverside and adjacent cities. Although the Islamic Academy was developed out of the Masjid of Riverside, and remains under their guardianship, it has its own autonomy. Both the Masjid of Riverside and the Islamic Academy complex are centered in the Inland Empire area of Southern California and serve the needs of more than 6,000 Muslims.
